FARMING IS ALL ABOUT KNOWING THE WEATHER

Today, weather data improve the lives of many people. But, there are still parts of the globe where weather monitoring doesn’t exist. That is exactly the case across much of the African continent.

CLOSING THE CLIMATE DATA GAP

The Trans-African Hydro-Meteorological Observatory (TAHMO) initiative seeks to install and operate 20,000 weather stations in sub-Saharan Africa.

OUR STORY

The history of METER stretches back beyond its formation in 2017, back to its roots with Decagon Devices in the U.S. and UMS in Germany. For nearly 30 years, both companies designed reliable, research-grade instruments for the lab and the field, addressing complex challenges faced by growers, scientists, and engineers.

When Decagon merged with UMS to become METER Group, we combined our passion for designing precision instruments that simplify complex measurement processes. This allows our customers to focus on what matters most—developing insights that drive progress in agriculture, sustainability, safety, and conservation. Our products—from all-in-one weather stations to long-term soil sensors, and more—are built with accuracy, durability, ease-of-use, and affordability in mind.

Today, METER products and solutions are used worldwide in labs, golf courses, stadiums, space stations, agricultural fields, and remote wilderness locations, helping our customers make the world a better, more productive, and sustainable place.
