Requirements:

• Be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college and in a graduate degree program in the U.S. or Canada or Mexico (Note: applications must be submitted in English).
• Fill out all fields. A confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours of receiving your application. Here are some grant-writing tips.

Application must include:

• Completed application form (a link to the online application form will appear at the bottom of this article in Oct. 27 2023).
• PDF attachment of applicant’s three-page research proposal, including title, abstract, primary goals and objectives, methods, time schedule, significance of your research, and plans for dissemination of findings. References should be included but do not count toward your three-page proposal.
• References do not count toward your proposal 3-page count.
• Content in appendices will not be considered by the selection committee. Only the content in the 3-page body of your proposal will be considered.
• Proposal should be double-spaced 12 pt. font (Times New Roman or similar).
• Margins should be one inch on all sides.
• Do not put your name on the proposal itself.
• Itemized budget of METER instrumentation (in the form of a METER quote for US applicants, a Hoskin Scientific quote for Canadian applicants, and a Ruber Eim De México quote for Mexican applicants) not exceeding $10,000.
• Statement of support and/or letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor for the project.
• Applicant’s curriculum vitae (PDF).
• Applications must be received by January 24, 2024 (5:00 PM PST). Applicants will receive notification of the committee’s decision by March 1, 2024. The decision of the committee is final. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
